Star Trek: Captain’s Chair is a strategic deckbuilding game from designers Dávid Turczi and Nigel Buckle, known for Voidfall and the Imperium series. In this head-to-head game for 1–2 players, you step into the boots of one of six iconic Star Trek captains—Picard, Sisko, Burnham, Koloth, Sela, or Shran—each with their own unique deck and playstyle. Whether you’re commanding starships, leading away teams, or forging alliances, the game captures the spirit of Star Trek with a blend of diplomacy, exploration, science, and the occasional skirmish. It’s a rich, thematic experience that rewards both tactical planning and narrative flair.

Gameplay unfolds over a series of rounds where you’ll use action tokens to play cards from your hand or activate abilities from your deployed tableau. You’ll explore planets, manage resources like dilithium and latinum, and build your deck by acquiring new ships, crew, and tech from a shared market. Each captain has a reserve and development deck, unlocking powerful new options as the game progresses. Victory comes from completing missions, controlling planets, and earning glory through clever play. It’s a thoughtful, asymmetric duel that offers loads of replayability and a deep dive into the Star Trek universe.
