Red Cathedral

The Red Cathedral is set against the backdrop of Moscow during Ivan the Terrible's reign, players immerse themselves in a strategic Euro-style board game. As construction teams vying for Tsar Ivan's favor, they collaboratively build the iconic St. Basil's cathedral. The game, a creation by game designers Sheila Santos and Israel Cendrero, along with graphic elements by Pedro Soto and Chema Román, pays homage to the iconic Russian artist Ivan Bilibin.

In this engaging gameplay, participants must strategically assign cathedral sections, allocate resources, and navigate the central rondel to gather essential materials. Completing cathedral sections rewards players with money and prestige points, and also allows them to embellish their creations for extra recognition from the Tsar. The game ends when the sixth section is complete! The Red Cathedral strikes a balance between accessibility and strategic depth, with it small box containing a lot of game decisions.
